When the models came out for the first set of the show, we couldn’t help but notice that the hairstyles these models strut down with was closer to home than we were used to seeing. The first look that stood out was a stacked stiff ponytail, which made for a strong bold look.
Afro’s and Mo was the mind and hands behind these looks. The natural hair salon came through with a clean, bold look; it was all held up out of the way, you could see that the goal was to let the clothing speak for itself. There was no effort put towards trying to “tame” the fuzziness of their hair but it instead spent a lot of energy enhancing it, along with the models’ faces. The moment was subtle yet strong, and it left an impression that is hard to forget.
