You may know him as Killmonger from Black Panther, or maybe Creed from the movie Creed, but this hot actor is nowhere near done with stunning us. Micheal B. Jordan joined other industry bigwigs on different versions of September’s cover of Time Magazine. He took the cover to talk about how intentional he is about the roles he plays and his social justice standings. He was also promoting his new movie Just Mercy, where he is the lead actor as well as producer.
The film, which Jordan also produced, reveals the ways in which law enforcement and the judicial system unfairly target and punish people of color, as brought to life by the true story of Walter McMillian (Jamie Foxx), an inmate set to be executed for a crime he didn’t commit.
“It’s a system that preys on people of color, people who are poor, people who are uneducated,” Jordan says. “When you leave this movie, I want you to question what you think is normal.”
