Meet Shanelle Nyasiase, The Most Booked Model During Fashion Month 

Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards 2017 nominee and one of our favourite models right now, Shanelle Nyasiase was the most booked model during fashion month. The Ethiopian-born star of South Sudanese descent but raised in Kenya tied with Hyun Ji Shin walking for 42 shows during the Fall/Winter 2018 season.

From New York, London, Milan and Paris, she walked for brands such as Brandon Maxwell, Rick Owens, Alexander McQueen, Gucci, Hermes and more.

Speaking to British Vogue last month, Nyasiase acknowledged the unique challenges she faces as a black woman in the fashion industry.

“I’m learning so much. I’m a model, but I’m also a black woman,” she said. “I have to learn from other people, but I also have to be a strong person, and have people accept me as I am.”

Newcomer Adut Akech, also had a strong season, with 31 bookings — a list that included Miu Miu, Chanel, Valentino, and Alexander McQueen.
