What do you expect to find at a Maurice Kirya concert? A full house, of mostly female fans, chanting and dancing, as he serenades them with his silky voice. This is exactly what happened last Saturday at Design Hub, where the celebrated ‘Mwooyo’ star had a mini-concert.
Clad in an army green suit and a beanie cap atop his head, he took us on a journey; from fan favourites like Boda Boda and Busaabala to newer songs from his latest album, Beyond Myself, which features gems like ‘Slow Down,’ ‘After Saturday’ and ‘Gimmie Light’, which we reviewed when the video came out last year.
The show was a high energy affair which started and ended with him – no opening acts or playing games. He asked his hardcode fans to go up to the edge of the stage to sing with him and a swarm of ladies was there almost immediately.
