Mackline & Collins’ Beautiful Love Story Began in Church

By  |

Mr. Bareija is a radio presenter with KFM, a Tv Host with Pearl Magic Prime, a corporate events MC, a
brand influencer, and a businessman. Mrs. Bareija Is a national youth leader in NYC (National Youth
Council) and is the secretary for Sports and culture. She’s also a business lady and owns Mackie’s
KOLLECTION which deals in ladies’ clothes.

Collins recalls how they met:

“I first saw her in church, and I was like eeh my Lord, I wonder. But anyway, it was overnight. I saw her and had a crush but said nothing. I saw her again another Sunday in church still at Watoto downtown then I let it go. I then saw her on Facebook because my friends who know her were tagging her in their posts.
I was happy that I had seen my crush and I inboxed her on Facebook. She blue ticked me up to today.”
(He laughs). Fast forward to 2021, we met through a mutual friend, I sent her a message and the
rest is history.

Engagement- Mackline

Getting engaged, I knew nothing honestly. Collins told me he wanted to marry me on our first date.
When I accepted to be his girlfriend, he started talking about the engagement. He said he would propose around November or December 2022, and I was like its okay because it would give me time to prepare not knowing that he was planning a surprise proposal in April with my friends.

I was from Turkey on 8th April 2022 all jet lagged. My boo had told me he couldn’t pick me up because he was going to Ntungamo to MC a Kuhingira. My girls picked me up from the airport and took me to Serena Kigo for a “Girl’s night” where we’d take pics and celebrate my birthday. I refused but my friend Becky said she can’t access the room without me. (I was fooled) so I accepted, had a little rest, and woke up to do makeup and dress up for pics. We took pics till the girls, and I decided to walk to the Marina for
more pics and then dinner.

As we approached the marina, one of the girls says ooh, looks like someone is going to propose. I said let’s take pictures and whoever wants to propose will propose. I remember seeing a saxophonist playing ( Micheal Kitanda), I didn’t give him attention since my attention was on the girls and good photos. As we approached the proposal place thinking it was someone else, my boo came out of nowhere and I was so surprised because this is the person who told me is In Ntungamo. I didn’t suspect anything like a proposal because everyone hid it from me. That’s how I got engaged.

Wedding & Reception

Wedding experience
Honestly, it was a great learning experience. We didn’t stress much since we knew all the service providers we wanted. Also, we learned who our real people were.

The Gown
I saw a beautiful gown on Pinterest and its simplicity got me. I contacted Fatuma Asha through my hubby since they’re good friends and she did a very tremendous job.

Wedding Theme & colors
Black and Gold because we wanted something unique and nice.

Choosing service providers
My husband is a corporate event MC and has worked with many service providers, so all the service providers had worked with him, and he was good friends with them and trusted them to deliver and they did.
