Move away Kendall Jenner, Lupita Nyong’o is the girl of the moment now. The Oscar-winning Kenyan actress stars on Vogue’s October 2016 issue. Nyong’o revealed the news with a heartwarming Instagram video on Thursday. To celebrate her new movie “Queen of Katwe,” a story from Uganda, Nyong’o took Vogue — including Mario Testino, Tonne Goodman and her hairstylist Vernon François — to her family’s village in Kenya. Her cover line touts her quote, “I want to create opportunities for people of color,” which she touches on in a corresponding interview on Vogue.com.
This is her third time appearing on the cover of the American glossy, something not many celebrities and models have managed to do. In the accompanying photo shoot, which was was done in her home village in Kisumu County, the actress models “the season’s most glorious prints”.
