Leila Kayondo ‘Performs Drunk’ Live On National Television, And More Drama This Week Offered Us

Leila Kayondo’s Erratic NBS Katchup Performance 

For an artiste whose career is just about to hit off; even after singing for years, doing not one but two collaborations with Jose Chameleon and being signed to a seemingly reputable record label in Nigeria, a TV appearance is a huge deal. And if it’s on a prime-time entertainment show, the deal becomes even bigger as they have to be on their best behavior.

This wasn’t the case for Leila Kayondo as she made her ‘NBS Katchup’ debut last evening. The singer appeared shockingly unstable, and evidently intoxicated. She answered questions regarding her failed relationship with businessman SK Mbuga describing him as ‘my best friend’ as she incessantly caressed her messy wig. This was shortly before more disaster ensued on stage. Her singing was not bad, but terrible. She could barely remember the lyrics to her songs. If it wasn’t for Anita Fabiola, one of the hosts of the show who joined her during the erratic performance, we would have reported a different story today. She was just about to stumble and fall flat on the floor on national television. Of course, the performance was cut short saving her from more embarrassment. But why Leila? Why?

Diamond Platnumz Posts Threesome Videos On Social, Gets Arrested For it 

Hardly a day after he posted videos of himself with Hamisa Mobetto and another mystery woman in what appeared to be a threesome, Diamond Platnumz was arrested. Apparently, this childish move was meant to appear as some sort of revenge on his off-again and on-again lover Zari Hassan. Tanzanian authorities were quick to take him into custody for posting images and videos which they claim “project sexual acts and indecency”. I think this young man ought to be schooled on how to act like an adult in times of conflict resolution. This was really distasteful!

Kansiime and Ojok’s unyielding reconciliation

Following the breakup of comedy queen Anne Kansiime and her “dark chocolate” Gerald Ojok, their families have been holding talks to get them back together. Allegedly, the two broke up because Anne wanted to concentrate on her career while Ojok wanted a baby. Rumor has it that Kansiime doesn’t want to be held down by a baby especially now that she’s in the prime of her earning years, and who would want to? Given that she was broke for long, the comedienne wants to first exhaust her opportunities but unfortunately, Ojok is fast getting impatient. The two former lovers even own a bar together which Anne seems to have let go of as a sign that she can hold her own. We shall be praying for them.

Angella Katatumba beaten to a pulp

This just might not be her year. It’s just April but Angella Katatumba has already been through a fair share of woes; from her struggles to inherit her father’s ambassadorial position, to releasing ear-bleeding songs and now a public fight that has her walking around with a black eye. Angella was injured in a bar brawl when she and her friend Kuzi Kz were beaten to a pulp by Chicken tonight (Kabalagala) manager and staff. In a case of utter unprofessional behavior, the manager and his security team reportedly beat up Angella and Kuzi for complaining about the food and before yanking six million Ugx out of her bag. This sum of money has me squinting sideways though. Why would anyone walk around with all that cash in their purse? However, videos have since emerged showing Katatumba and Kz behaving erratically; yelling at waiters and throwing food around before they were thrown out by management.

Makerere Suspends Lecturer For Sexually Exploiting Students

During this week’s “Bloody” Monday strike, a photo of a Makerere University faculty registrar down on his knees with his face and lips in the loins of his ‘former student’ went viral on social media. Apparently, the young lady who was sick and tired of getting exploited by her lecturer decided to snap a selfie of herself as the man did the deed. She then shared it with police and on social media. This comes amidst the controversial sex for marks saga which is tainting the image of the institution. The married registrar has since been suspended from office while investigations into his conduct are made.
