Law Roach Bares it All With ‘The Cut’, Precious Lee Covers British Vogue & BOSS Hosts a Star-Studded SS’23 Show

Top fashion stories of the week

1.Celebrity Stylist Law Roach lays it all bare with The Cut

After days of speculation and the rumor mill going into overdrive once Law Roach announced he was retiring on Monday in a now deleted Instagram post, the power stylist sat down with The Cut’s editor-in-chief Lindsay Peoples to divulge everything that led to this turning point. In an emotive and eye-opening interview, the 44-year-old fashion force spoke candidly about everything from how the industry works and who it favors, to the realities of sacrificing so much of his personal life for the sake of his clients and his groundbreaking career.

Buckle up, it’s a great read. Short for time? Some key moments include Roach confirming he will not style any talent for the Met Gala, how he will continue to be involved in Zendaya’s fashion endeavors, and how his next act will hopefully involve projects like podcasting or red-carpet commentary, alongside a book and a new role as the creative director of a yet-to-be-announced footwear brand. 2. BOSS hosts a star-studded SS ’23 show in Miami

Over 500 people gathered at the Herald Plaza in Miami last night to witness the BOSS Spring Summer ’23 outing, and they were rewarded with a suitably stellar cast of models. During the show, supermodels and an inclusive cast stomped their way down the runway through rain-like splashback, as a result of the fountain combined with oceanside breeze.

Among those who walked were Pamela Anderson and her son Brandon, Law Roach (don’t mention the ‘r’ word!), DJ Khaled, Naomi Campbell, Gottmik, and Violet Chachki, among many others. Meanwhile, cheering them on front row were the likes of Demi Lovato, Bella Thorne, Charles Melton, Suki Waterhouse, Lucien Laviscount, Tiffany Haddish, Camila Morrone, and Christine Quinn.

3. Plus-Size Model Precious Lee Stars On Britsh Vogue’s April Issue

“This wasn’t part of my original plan,” says Precious Lee ,one of British Vogue’s three April 2023 cover stars. “Getting here meant taking a huge risk and that’s one of the things I’m proudest of, [because] I’m grounded in who I was before I began this journey. Sometimes I think about the kid version of me, the little girl who would be so proud knowing I’ve come this far and managed to stay true to myself.”

Photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin and styled by Gabriella Karefa-Johnson in a series of fashion portraits, Precious Lee spoke to writer Janelle Okwodu about representation and this moment of time. In the words of Lee: “How often do girls see a [US] size 16 brown, chocolate girl jumping through the air on a Vogue cover or being called a supermodel? None of us aspired to a title [per se], but inspiring others on this level is powerful.” Here, here! Read the full feature here.
