During the lockdown when there was nothing better to do with life, many people leaned on Tik Tok for distraction. One of those people is the Kenyan comedian Elsa Majimbo who went viral with all her quirky takes on life under lockdown.
She got attention when she ended up on the radar of the Savage X Fenty team who reposted one of her videos and later sent her some sunglasses to try on. This made her go global and now, she won the E! People’s Choice Award for African Social Star. She posted her acceptance speech on Twitter.
