Kai’s Divo Collection & Kongoliro to Headline My Culture My Identity Gala Fashion Show

Culture World has officially launched a cultural gala extravaganza themed My Culture My Identity slated to hold on the 22nd of June, 2019 at the Uganda Museum. In the spirit of togetherness,
Lavinia Tuhimbise, C.E.O/ Founder of Culture World, thought to bring different cultures together from across the country and reveal how beautiful it is when cultures mix rather than when each is celebrated individually.

The center piece of the day is an evening showcase that will see the arrival of dignitaries, offer an Afrocentric carpet experience and a fashion showcase interspersed with a variety of entertainment from prominent local entertainers like Afrigo Band and different cultural troupes.

The show will be produced by Joram Muzira who explained that the “youth are not open to embracing their cultures because they think it’s boring which misconception we want to break during this festival.” “We are not only going to have a fashion show for adults but one for kids too.

Kai’s Divo Collection, a renowned fashion designer and stylist will be showcasing along with Eguana,” he added.

“This year, it’s all about African Greatness and I shall be collaborating with Kongoliro- a new accessories brand that makes earrings, necklaces from cowrie shells and bark cloth. We can’t wait to blow your minds.” stated Banji Bagwana at the press conference on Tuesday this week.

The one- day event shall run from 9A.M with stalls stocked with food, drink and cultural bounty, DJs, troupes and artists entertaining the crowd, a kids’ fashion show, mini tournaments in ddulu, mweso, and kwepena. Tickets are now available at Shell Kampala Rd.

There will be free entry to visit the museum at no extra cost and as an act of giving back to the community, this year, part of the proceeds will go to Kaleke Kasome Foundation. The event has been sponsored by NTV, KFM, Life Magazine, Bank of Uganda, Pepsi, Cheza Association, Duke Water, AAR Healthcare, URA and Joram Model Management.
