Juliana seduced us Again at her concert last evening
Last evening was a cocktail of good music and pomp at the Serena when Juliana finally sang to us live after so many years. The Kora Award winning singer was live in concert and she made us forget about the cliched bivulus we always attend. Titled ‘Juliana Upclose and personal‘ this concert had nothing less of it’s title because she took her fans through her musical journey right from those Nabikoowa days to these Eddiba days in the most intimate of ways. We were floored!! Right now she’s the only performer we want to chat with.
She stunned in this white pantsuit.
The turn up was tremendous beating off critics who felt Juliana was not yet at the level of organizing a live concert at the Serena with an entrance fare of Shs 100,000. The fact that this concert coincided with another one by local crooner Rema made it even easy for critics. The turn up beat everyone’s expectations as ministers, royals, MPs and ‘so many celebrities’ were present.
As opposed to what we usually find at ‘bivulus’ where almost 30 artistes curtain raise for the main performer who then mimes 5 songs, Juliana was the only performer of the night. She was only joined by Moses Matovu, Myko Ouma and Brian Mugenyi to perform their respective duets with her. She sang her heart out to her fans who sang along to every song.
This dress dress was both sassy and seductive. Her fashion was in full force.
The ‘Eddiba’ singer had her fashion in full force as she wore only the most beautiful dresses. She wore our most favorite trend right now – stripes among other designs. We only hope one of these dresses was designed by a Ugandan fashion designer. Obviously this seduced us the more. We loved her sequined dress in that ‘Eddiba’ music video but its now number two on our most favorite dresses she has appeared in.
The stage, sound and decor were perfect. I cannot remember noticing any glitches. Its probably because I spent the entire time dancing away to her tunes. The Tusker Project Fame judge had the entire audience on their feet almost through out the entire evening. Not many people had appreciated the song ‘Eddiba‘ but after her epic performance of the song, the reverse is now the truth. That song is now on my playlist. She made everyone fall in love with her.
Clad in stripes, she had the time to have a fun moment with her guitarist
The concert was organised by Buzz Events and bankrolled by Pepsi Uganda and Bell Lager. It ended a few minutes to 11 pm with Juliana thanking her fans, sponsors and band for putting together the most memorable concert ever. I still believe this has been the biggest concert by a local artiste. Somebody tell me if I’m wrong.
