By  |

This is a recently founded brand (2021), by Oghalé Alex through a desire to bring the concept of calm and connection to the world of fashion. ISOKO is a premium fashion brand  Inspired by both Japanese and Nigerian Origin, built on the foundations of . It believes in reducing stress from the everyday, being honest with production processes and facilitating genuine conversations among one another.

The brand’s founder, Oghalé Alex is known for his uplifting images infused with peacefulness and a softness of touch. It’s these spiritual qualities that the Nigerian-born, US-raised photographer brings to his new conscious fashion brand, ISOKO. Alex found his initial inspiration in the merging of fashion, music and art, and in bringing together the two parts of the world in which he’s found calmness and creativity;  Nigeria and Japan. The brand name pays homage to the Nigerian Isoko tribe his family line derives from, and also translates to ‘Beach’ and ‘Shore’ in Japanese. This reflects Isoko’s effortless aesthetic and emphasis on serenity.

The brand is dedicated to offering foundational pieces for living a calm life. ISOKO creates simple yet refined contemporary garments in muted tones and high quality fabrics, conceived for both men and women and designed to last. ISOKO aims at contributing to a wardrobe that challenges overconsumption with timeless, tasteful, and well-thought-out designs, hoping to turn the tide away from trend-led fast fashion towards a more sustainable approach.

The brand’s first collection “Synchrony” provides a tonal experience, where all the clothes in a given collection have the potential to connect and be worn together. The collection is based on the core pillars of calm, care and community. A set of timeless, unisex staples that offer maximum ease and comfort and relief from the stress of every day.
