Smukke Lashes By Meg Lusembo, The Leading Eyelash Extension Brand in Kampala

Founded in 2017 by Ugandan ex-model Meghan Lusembo, Smukke Lashes is undoubtely the leading faux eyelash brand in Kampala. After attending a friend’s wedding and having a little trouble with getting the perfect lashes, Lusembo decided to venture into creating her own line of eye lashes made in Denmark and sold here in Kampala.

Smukke Lashes is a 3D full dimension faux eyelash extension brand. 3D extensions are 3 times the thickness and lusciousness and provide more volume as compared to 2D and 1D lashes. They are also designed using fine mink hair which is the closesest thing to natural lashes.

“Mink lashes are made from natural hairs from Siberian mink which is an animal, so its natural animal hair, almost like real human hair . The difference between mink and faux mink is that faux mink  imitates real mink,” she explains.

“When I started this lash line I created a collection based on style statements, everybody has a different style statement. Some people like being classy, some like being sporty and while others are casual! So, I created all these different lashes each with a different style,” she shares.

There are sixteen different lash styles in the Smukke Lashes collection, creating a wide range of options for women to choose from .

Here are some of the styles in the collection

ICONIK MINK LASHES

These lashes are mink and smaller on the inner corners but fuller outwards towards the outer corners of the eye. They are almost full lashes . They look good on literally everyone and give off a cat eye sort of look.

TEMPTRESS MINK LASHES

These lashes are fuller and more suited for the “divas”. They are great for a night out, a glamourous or a red carpet look . According to Lusembo, they draw attention to the eyes. “Your eyes tend to pop the moment you put them on . They have this ” wow ” effect only divas can wear so well.”

FORMAL MINK LASHES

With these lashes, you can create a formal look. They are natural and light in weight. The hairs are spaced so you can barely see them there, a great choice for a formal look !

DEMURE MINK LASHES

These lashes are subtle and like Meg says , they are for the woman who doesn’t like to be all out there when it comes to her makeup.

REBEL LASHES

These are for the “rebellious ” woman. They are a great style choice for a lady who loves having her lashes noticed . They are also perfect for photoshoots and music videos because of their great volume.

BARE LASHES

Just like their name, these are barely there! They look natural, light weight and the strands are fewer and spaced out more. They are a perfect choice for a formal makeup look or no makeup makeup look .

GLAM LASHES

These ones are for those who are all about that glamourous look . They are full and have curved lashes , there’s less space between the strands to create a voluminous effect.

ECLECTIC LASHES

These are full lashes with straight strands that thin out more towards the inner corners of the eyes and are slightly curved out. They are great for everyday wear!

TEMPTRESS LASHES

These are also full and heavy lashes, almost like Glam lashes but the strands here are criss crossed in the middle . They are great for an evening makeup look or a night out !

FRISKY LASHES

These lashes are mainly suited for brides. They look and feel natural, light weight and the lashes are not too many.
