I Proposed to Her Shortly After Having a Fight – Manuella and Joseph

Manuella, an accountant, and Joseph, a model scout, met after she reached out to him seeking an opportunity for a friend to get into modelling. They later got engaged on their daugher’s birthday, shortly after a small fight! They tied the knot on 16th October, 2020 at Sacred Heart Cathedral Lubaga, with Fr. Anthony Musaala as the main celebrant.

How they met

Joseph: Her friend wanted to be a commercial model so Manuella somehow got my contact and boom, we became friends and one thing led to another.

Manuella: I had a friend who badly wanted to do modelling, I could see her passion but she wasn’t getting platforms so I reached out to several agencies to see if her dream could be made a reality. That’s how I chanced upon his contact , we became friends and later on started dating.

Engagement

Joseph: We got engaged on the 26th Jan 2019 on our daughter’s birthday. I almost freaked out because we had a fight 5 minutes before the proposal. I had to do it though because the ring had the date already engraved in it. I thought she was going to say no but she she said yes. It was a great feeling!

Planning the wedding

Joseph: When we tell people that we didn’t do any wedding meetings, it is hard to believe. We organised the wedding with a handful of close people who were very hands on and supportive. We both hate attending wedding meetings so didn’t want to burden others. It was our wedding and we knew what we wanted so; we sat down, identified service providers, booked them and then let family and friends know.

Manuella: God used our loved ones to organize our wedding to perfection. God put the right people in our path to help us, gave us service providers that know the true definition of customer care. We had our friends and family chipping in wherever they could till the last minute to make our dream a reality. We were honestly highly favoured in these preparations.

Manuella’s gown

Joseph: I only got to see her wedding gown in church. She looked extremely beautiful. About my outfit, Martyn Larry of Larry Casual tailored it to perfection. This guy is gifted.

Manuella: The gown is something I selected myself with the help of a friend. There were so many bumps involved especially with the gown and its delivery almost made us late for church, our MC got quarantined literally a day to the wedding but all in all the rest of our service providers were amazing, checking on us all the time. The decor and cake people would check on me every week to see if I was okay.
