He Tricked Me Through My Best Friend – Fiona & Canary

Fiona and Canary’s love story began 8 years ago at WBS TV, where she worked as a TV host at the time. It would all come full circle for them later, as Canary is now employed at NBS TV, which occupies the location currently. “We still joke about it,” Fiona tells Satisfashion UG Weddings. It is, however, their engagement that get her to smile from ear to ear. Canary tricked her into showing up to their engagement party through her best friend. The couple tied the knot on 18th September, 2021 before holding a lavish reception at Speke Resort Munyonyo. Read on….

Backstory

We met 8 years ago, 2013 to be exact, at my work place at the time. I was working as a TV host on a teens’ program called Teens club on WBS TV. We fell in love instantly and the rest has been history. What’s funny is; early last year, Next Media Services, Canary’s current employer, moved to Next Media Park, which housed WBS TV years ago, and where we met. This is where he goes every single day to work. We joke about it a lot. That place holds a special place in our hearts. And it’s beautiful for me to know that every day at work reminds him of us.

Engagement

About that, I honestly didn’t see it happening. He tricked me through my best friend, who told me that her boyfriend was traveling for work and thus wanted to treat us to a double date. This was so easy for me to believe, coming from my bff. I got myself ready for a double date only to arrive to a well decorated venue with roses all over. I was confused for a minute, then boom! I set my eyes on Canary on one knee asking me to be his wife. I got butterflies in my stomach, I almost turned back. 😂 It was so beautiful and memorable!!

The wedding

We planned our wedding in just 2 months. The pressure was too much but thanks to my adorable husband who he carried the load off me. He asked me to only worry about my entourage and gown. The rest was all figured out on his side. We had an amazing committee and both our families helped a lot in making our big day the dream we desired.
