Fashion maven and publisher of African Woman Magazine Sylvia Owori has finally opened up on who she thinks will be changing the face of the fast growing fashion industry in Uganda. “Gloria Wavamunno and Natasha Karugire are going to change fashion in Uganda in the next five years, ” she shared during a candid interview with online entertainment magazine Chano 8.
Just like Sylvia Owori, Gloria Wavamunno was named one of the most of the influential people of 2014 by Satisfashion UG thanks to her successful launch and execution of the Kampala Fashion Week in Uganda. The eccentric designer is one of the most celebrated designers on the continent.
Natasha Karugire is the creative director of J and Kainembazi, a label famed for delivering authentic elegance. According to their website, Natasha was the brains behind the ‘first fashion house of its kind in Uganda’ House of Kaine. Her collection dubbed ‘Rumblings’ which was presented at the Kampala Fashion Week last November received rave review thanks to its timeless elegance.
Sylvia Owori also talked deeply about motherhood and her spiritual life. Watch the interview here below.
