Backstory

I met someone who prophesied that I would meet my husband in a particular month and year 🤣🤣🤣🤣. At first, I didn’t believe it, so I shared with a friend of mine and we laughed about it. As time flew by, I forgot about it because I was focusing on different things in my life like furthering my education.

Fast forward, it was my first day of CPA class in the month and year the person had prophesied. I sat next to this gentleman. I said “hi” briefly. I was on my phone the whole time as we waited for the lecturer to arrive. Upon arrival, the lecturer gave us a rule for her class – Your neighbour is your accountability partner. They’re also your neighbour until you sit for her paper. They have to know why you didn’t attend class, should it happen. They should know why you didn’t do your assignments. They’re also your first discussion group member.

My neighbour was called Rodney. He followed the lecturer’s rule to a tee. He always called to remind me about class, to meet and do assignments and discussions. Our relationship soon blossomed into a great friendship. We would chat all day.

Engagement

It was Valentine’s day in 2020. We had plans of having prayers at church that day. He told me he still had some work to complete he would find me at church. He made it, however after prayers, he was acting anxious. He took me to a place he had been organizing this whole time and got on one knee to propose. I had always told him that I preferred a private proposal because the person always speaks from their heart. He did exactly this.

We prayed for our service providers because we didn’t want to have any disappointments. We prayed about the venue too. Being Covid-19 times, and Good Friday to be exact, we wanted one venue in Kampala where we could hold both functions to cut out the whole moving to gardens part and transportation from one place to the other to save time, since covid weddings have to end by 6/7pm.

After checking out various venues we settled for one hotel in Bugolobi and on the day we were supposed to send deposit we got a great offer from Silver Springs Hotel which we couldn’t refuse.
We settled for a four-man-entourage i.e. bride, groom, bestman and maid-of-honour. This made coordination easier when it came to fitting, picking outfits and transportation.
