From Hair & Makeup to Pink coded Ensembles, here 5 Ways to Rock the Barbie Core Trend

By  |

With a couple of days, till Barbie premieres in theatres, it’s time to get on board the Barbiecore trend. This July, we’re going to Barbiecore. Embrace your love for everything pink and try your hand at some classic Barbie looks in honor of the film’s release. Casual, classy, and fun, there’s something for everyone! Read on to learn how to put together your pink looks.

1. Makeup

There are many ways to nail that signature Barbie look with your makeup. For starters, opt for anything pink; eyeshadows, glitters, blush, lipstick, you get the gist. If you’re one for subtle makeup looks, go light on the eyeshadow and heavier on your mascara and lipstick. For those who prefer a heavier, more obvious Barbie-themed look, opt for shimmery eyeshadow, glitters, and gloss. These little beauty highlights go a long way, making your makeup pop while complementing your Barbie fits.

2. Hair

When it comes to hair, get as creative as you can. Barbie’s favorite hairstyles though? Braids and high ponytails. To give those iconic looks a little more oomph, you can also incorporate hair accessories like bows, ribbons, clips, and jewelry.

3. Clothing

The most important part of being your own Barbie? The Fashion. Pink is easily one of the best shades to dress in, but how you style and present the outfit matters. Whether you’re going for a more casual look or reflecting your inner “glam girl”, it’ll all come together if you wear the bold color and not let it wear you. Own it!

4. Accessories

Of course, accessories are key when emulating that Barbie-pink look we’re all going for this July. And it all comes down to the bags, hats, headbands, chains, sunglasses, and more. Lucky for us, tiny pink bags are in!

5. Shoes

To finish the look, classic Barbie heels are a must. There is a range of inclusive of heels, sneakers, and flats in shades of pink, white, and silver that you can always opt for. These shoes are the closest you’ll get to the typical Barbie-esque footwear you’ll see on Mattel’s dolls and in the movie.
