Bride: Sandra Lenia
Groom: Matthew Badgley
The wedding happened on the 26th of August 2023 at Golden Tulip Kampala
How the couple met
Sandra and Matthew meet at a restaurant called Montana’s in Rochdale, Canada.
“There was only one table available, and we sat on that table and said hello and chatted. He asked for my number after the meal, and He texted for a week after which he took me on an actual date to the same restaurant and three more dates later asked me to be his girlfriend.” – Sandra recalls
Engagement
Matt ordered a custom diamond ring from JamesAllen.com and we planned a trip to Banff a tourist town in the Mountainside in Alberta where he got down on one knee in the cold snow because it was wintertime. My younger sister was present, and I said yes to spend the rest of my life with my best friend.
Wedding Planning
Wedding planning for our Uganda wedding was exciting at first because I flew to Uganda three months in advance to do my planning because I’m very particular or picky as some may say but later became very tedious towards the end, but my lovely makeup artist Cerinah at Serene Beauty helped me a lot and connected me to most of my vendors which really made it easier. I’m very grateful to her.
The Wedding Gown
My gown was bought in Canada and is made by Milla Nova a well-renowned worldwide designer under the 2023 Olive, Greece, love collection. I loved that their designs are handcrafted and very unique in style and have neat and beautiful embroidery. And since the best man was in Uganda, I was advised by a friend to use Larry Casual and they were very helpful to help us last minute because Matt flew in three weeks to the wedding. They are very professional as well and zero regrets there.
