On February 8, 2024, former Miss Uganda Hannah Karema officially launched the Hannah Karema Foundation, a groundbreaking initiative dedicated to empowering women, promoting education, fighting early childhood marriages, and fostering skills and talent development.
The prestigious event took place at the Kampala Sheraton Hotel and attracted a distinguished guest list, making it a memorable evening of inspiration, empowerment, and fashion.
The launch event featured an esteemed panel of speakers, including renowned television series director Namanya Herman, Joram Muzira Job, CEO of Joram Model Management, @janetpreacher projects director @missugandaofficial, @susan.geurts founder @awomansworthuganda and @king_haguma CEO @pluggedin_communicationsug, and Hannah Karema herself.
The discussions were skillfully moderated by celebrated MC Miss Deedan, while the red-carpet segment was hosted by renowned radio personality Prim Asiimwe.
Prominent figures graced the event, including former Minister Miria Matembe, celebrated musicians Spice Diana and Lydia Jazmine, and fashion icons such as designers Dyna Vence and Kaijuka Abbas of Kais Divo Collection.
The CEO of Abryanz, Ahumuza Brian, added a stylish touch to the evening with a runway segment featuring some of his ready-to-wear (RTW) collections. Mr. and Miss Uganda 2024, Arinda Shaun & Natasha Nyonyozi, along with the first and second runners-up, were also in attendance, further solidifying the event’s significance in the pageant and fashion industries.
The event seamlessly blended discussions, fashion showcases from designers like fatumah Asha, Mickyz designs, Dyna Vence, Kais Divo Collection, Jo kisaka, Sham Tyra, Beryl Qouture and entertainment, culminating in an energetic dance segment.
