Flip-flops, a Fashion Trend We Didn’t Ask For Is Already Upon Us

You heard right, flip-flops are officially stylish! The humble, thong like footwear made from basic rubber is unexpectedly now a street style staple. Brands such as Isabel Marant, Zimmermann and Proenza Schouler are already flaunting the footwear as the hottest thing in fashion . Not to mention that Vogue also has a guide here helping you choose your favourite ‘thong song’!

The closest thing to flip-flops and high fashion is Gloria Wavamunno’s last two Kampala Fashion Week presentations where she sent models flapping their feet on the runway in ‘umoja’ flip-flops.

According to Vogue, this ‘un cool silhouette’ is getting majorly updated through strong heel shapes, bold colours and new textures. There’s a whole new range of options for you to slip on and go.
