Fashion Police Strikes Again
It’s that time of the week where your favourite celebrities and fashionistas are brought to the chopping block. Did they slay as hard as they thought or it was a total miss? Our police officer, Christen Atim weighs in on who was atrocious and who represented us well:
Zahara Toto
Zahara Totto’s dress didn’t flatter her body at all. This is a dress I would see my mum wearing, and for Zahara’s age, this dress is ill-placed. Snatching her waist a little tighter would have given her body more definition. Red flags for the outrageous yellow and black ombre wig. The yellow washes her out to the point that if I was having a conversation with her, I probably wouldn’t be able to hear her over the shouting color of her wig. I wish she wore her hair back in a sleek ponytail to show off her amazing cheekbones.
Nadia Matovu
We are all well introduced to Nadia’s amazing body. That said, I’m so rooting for this wrap dress. That little pic-ka-boo against her thigh introduces just the right amount of skin to this outfit. Her large gold hoop earring with exude and old Hollywood glam and how can I say no to that? Not forgetting the gasp worthy gold clutch. Opt for an orange evening dress like this and you are guaranteed to make a sartorial statement.
Maritza
Blue is a bold approach to lipstick and I will give Maritza a thumbs up for that. I remember seeing this skirt on Nina Mirembe and thinking she rocked it better. This version of the skirt lacks volume and unless she had her designer create this at a cheap bargain, they should have gone all in with the fabric.
Anita Fabiola
Girl why the red strappy heels against that little hunter green dress? What happened to your gold ankle strap heels? Ditch the ombre sunglasses for a black diamanté clutch and dangling sterling earrings for a chic and light-catching look. Keep those sunglasses away for a sunny day at the beach. But just in case you are still rooting for sunglasses, tiny oval black sunglasses would have given us a more retro spin to that outfit.
Brian Ahumuza
Zara snake print pants, on a man, HALLELUJAH! Here guys is versatility playing an important role in a modern man’s fashion sense. You can easily take these pants from a day time shopping spree to a drink with the boys at night. I love that Brian added a sporty touch to his outfit with sneakers.
Rema and Hamza
February is almost here and we have this lovely couple leading us into the month of love with matching couple outfits. What better way to showcase their matching personalities! Their choice of colors isn’t a bad one, mixing maroon with black and small details of gold on his shirt buttons and her vintage antique oval drop earrings. Couples tend to look ridiculous wearing matching outfits, but this here is a fashionable expression of love.
