Evan & Rita’s Love Blossomed from a Casual Online Friendship into Something Beautiful

Evan & Rita Dingles‘ wedding at Speke Resort Munyonyo on December 31st, 2023, was a celebration of love amidst breathtaking views. “We got married at the stunning Speke Resort Munyonyo,” The couple reminisces. “The venue was absolutely perfect, offering breathtaking views that added an extra layer of magic to our special day.”

Their journey began on Instagram, where a casual online friendship blossomed into something deeper. “Our journey started on Instagram, where we first connected and became friends,” The couple recalls fondly. “What began as a casual online friendship slowly turned into something more meaningful.”

Their relationship deepened during their time in Switzerland, where both pursued master’s degrees. “Eight months into dating, we both moved to Switzerland to pursue our master’s degrees,” Rita shares. “It was during a memorable trip to Spain in our second year that we got engaged.“

Planning the wedding proved challenging from afar. “Planning the wedding was quite an experience—honestly, it was really stressful!” Rita admits. “Organizing everything from Switzerland while managing service providers in Uganda proved to be a significant challenge.”

Despite the challenges, their wedding day was a testament to their resilience and love. “Despite a few disappointments, we were able to pull everything together for our big day,” Rita says with pride. “Seeing everything come together on the wedding day made it all worthwhile.”

Rita found her got her wedding gown made by Fatuma Asha, a talented designer. “I found inspiration online for my wedding gown and was lucky to work with the talented Fatuma Asha,” Rita explains. “She helped turn my ideas into a beautiful reality. The dress turned out even better than I had imagined.”

Their experience with service providers was a mix of highs and lows. “Our experience with the service providers was a mix of highs and lows,” Rita reflects. “Some were fantastic and met our expectations perfectly, while others, unfortunately, fell short.”

As they look back on their wedding day, Rita and Evan cherish the memories of their journey together, from Instagram friends to life partners. “It was truly a magical day,” Rita concludes softly, and we’re so grateful for everyone who made it possible.”
