Ugandan brand Eguana Kampala has unveiled the campaign for their SS18 collection titled ‘Intensity’. This collection made its debut during the 2017 edition of Kampala Fashion Week, before making appearances at a number of runway shows and later on the body of ‘An African City’ star Esosa E. The campaign was lensed by the brand’s creative director Banji Bagwana.
According to an official statement, “the collection was inspired by different African tribes more specifically the Maasai and their intense usage of colour and print thus it’s title ‘intensity’.
The collection which was shown during the Kampala fashion week SS18 collections was inspired by different African tribes more specifically the Maasai and their intense usage of colour and print thus it’s title ‘intensity’. We went for bold colours and prints which we countered with more solid linens and some leather. We chose a more natural location for the shoot, Forever Eco Resort in Kajjansi since we wanted to capture the colours in a natural setting to give The collection a more authentic tribal look. The campaign is divided into 5 different segments which feature different aspects of tribal life there’s the educators, hunters, warriors, cultivators and fishers. We featured a cast of some of Kampala’s top female models as well as some of the top new male faces of the moment all from one of the region’s top agencies Joram model management. We collaborated with House of Thandi who we also worked with during fashion week showcase of the same collection and were assisted by Simon Kato on this shoot.
