Mokodu Fall is a Painter/Designer born in 1975 in Senegal. After practicing his art in his country in the early 1990’s as a political cartoonist for the journal ” Afrique Economique ” and ” Le Débat “, in 1995 he moved to Italy where he continued his passion for painting.

Despite his remoteness from his native land and the discovery of a new culture during cause of his journey to different city in Europe, his work still deeply reflects his motherland. The artist is a specialist in figurative/portrait painting and his work reflect on people who have contributed immensely to the development of African culture, world peace and urban cultures.

In the 90s he began with drawings in newspapers on the Place Dakaroise and then traveled to Italy where he really began his career as a painter. His work portray characters of great personality all over the world including Barack Obama, Cheikh Anta Diop, Leopold Sedar Senghor, Nelson Mandela and musician such as Ray Charles, Bob Marley, and Youssou Ndour, Fela Anikulapo Kuti and many others due to his belief in the power of music as a medium of spreading peace and unity all over the world.

His work has been shown in numerous exhibitions throughout the world, notably The October 2015 African Art fair Paris (France). May 2015 Biennial contemporary art and culture Rome (Italy). May 2016 Biennial Dak’art Dakar (Senegal). His accomplishments are far from common refined style to many painters. Mokodu uses various figurative techniques but oil on canvas painting is his favourite technique.

In recent years, after he started painting on clothes: jackets, dresses, pants among others.
