Danyel O Cosmetics Drops Colourful Eyeshadow Palette

Daniel Otim of Danyel O Cosmetics (more commonly known as Danyel On The Brushes) has been on a roll this year after he released his cosmetics line that was mostly focused on skincare. The palette, which consists of 36 colours, is named after major districts all over Uganda thus the name “Hometown”. It is comprised of highly pigmented mattes, shimmers and metallics for whatever mood you want to achieve.

He wanted to go a different route with his branch into the makeup production lane, “I wasn’t sure of which makeup product to launch first off my line since all the others were skincare,” he says, “I wanted to differ from most Ugandan cosmetics lines that all start with lashes and lipsticks, they are kind of all over the place. So I found an eyeshadow palette the best option to stand out and be unique and it relates with me as an artist because of the diverse colors in there.”

About the names of the districts, which include Jinja, Kabale, Arua and of course Kampala, Daniel explains, “The colors are named after some of the districts in the Uganda. I wanted us to also have a product that relates with us as Ugandans. So there’s a district from every region of the country!”
