Bold in Africa, Uganda’s premier fashion retail and curation platform, has officially announced the debut of The Bold Fashion Week 2026.
Running from 3rd to 6th June 2026 in Kampala, this landmark four-day platform is designed to elevate the standard of fashion presentation, spotlight Ugandan creative talent, and celebrate Bold in Africa’s 14th anniversary as a cornerstone of the regional creative economy.
While Uganda boasts an abundance of design talent, creative entrepreneurs frequently lack consistent access to professional platforms that merge high-quality production with commercial visibility. The Bold Fashion Week directly responds to this gap. It establishes an intentional, polished fashion experience that strengthens the ecosystem by connecting designers with media, buyers, corporate partners, mentors, and consumers.
“The Bold Fashion Week is more than a runway event; it is a strategic step toward building a stronger, highly professionalized fashion ecosystem in Uganda,” says Nunu Mugyenyi founder at Bold in Africa. “For 14 years, we have championed African designers, supported local production, and created market access. This platform builds on that foundational community, offering an elevated space where local craftsmanship meets real commercial opportunity.”
The Four-Day Programme Structure:
4th June: The Launch Party (Invite-Only) – An intimate, media-facing networking gathering bringing together designers, partners, sponsors, collaborators, and key industry stakeholders.
5th June: Panel Discussion, Masterclass & Market Day (Public) – A dedicated day for industry growth, education, and market access, featuring a masterclass, an ecosystem-focused panel discussion, and a curated retail market.
6th June: The Runway Showcase (Ticketed) – The main event, featuring 10 extraordinary African designers on a single, elevated runway showcasing top-tier creativity and craftsmanship.
