Beyonce shimmers in Tom Ford at Amsterdam concert
Tom Ford has some friends in very high places, not the least of which is ultimate power couple Beyoncé and Jay Z. The rapper dedicated a now-famous song to the designer on his most recent album “Magna Carta… Holy Grail” — you know how it goes, “I don’t pop Molly, I rock Tom Ford” — which inspired a number of jersey-like t-shirts that Jay Z wore on tour.
Ford was not-so-subtly inspired by said tees when designing his fall 2014 collection, showing sequined dresses of a very similar design. So, we’re not too shocked that one of the first ladies to get her hands on the new collection was Queen Bey herself, who wore the Tom Ford piece during her concert in Amsterdam on Monday night as part of her ongoing Mrs. Carter Show World Tour.
Beyoncé has played muse for Ford before: She walked in the designer’s runway show for his first eponymous womenswear collection back in Sept. 2010. Would it be wrong of us to keep our fingers crossed for a design collaboration (however unlikely) between the two? If they joined forces, we could really put an answer to Bey’s rhetorical question, “Who run the world?”
