Bell Lager yesterday unveiled a Shs150 million sponsorship package for Kampala City Festival, with a promise to create yet another thrilling experience for the residents of Kampala

Now in its 3rd year, the Kampala City Festival is the biggest of its kind in East Africa, having drawn an estimated 100,000 people in its first year and 300,000 people last year. This year the carnival is expected to attract over 500,000 revelers.

Themed For The Love Of Kampala, the Kampala City Festival is a whole day celebration consisting of over 200 activities that showcase business, fashion, art and culture, entertainment, technology and industry. The carnival, in its typical fashion, will feature world class floats, spectacular costumes ,sumptuous local and foreign cuisines, a thrilling display of fireworks and an incredible street parade with dancers and mascots.

Speaking at the launch ceremony in Kampala, UBL Marketing Director, Grace Nshemeire Gwaku, said that Bell Lager’s continued partnership with the festival, has been reinforced by the fact that Bell, shares a common destiny and heritage with the People of Uganda and the people of Kampala.

“Bell Lager was born and raised in Kampala. Bell Lager is an original Ugandan beer first brewed in
1950, in Port Bell on the shores of Lake Victoria and certainly shares a deep connection and history with Kampala City and its people,” she said, adding: “Bell Lager has been Uganda’s and Kampala’s friend through the joy and strife; Bell is at the heart of our Ugandan identity. We were the first beer made here, the golden glass that Ugandans/Kampalans have celebrated with for over half a century. So it is only natural that as we celebrate our achievements as a city and reflect on our path to the future, Bell Lager is at the center of it all.”
Flanked by KCCA Executive Director, Mrs. Jennifer Ssemakula Musisi, Nshemeire called upon the residents of Kampala to be a part of the big party, saying that the celebration was not just KCCA’s celebration, but rather everybody’s celebration of the past successes and an opportunity to reflect on the future.

“Kampala is our city and we all have a role to play in its success. In the Bell Nation we believe relishing life is a choice and we will always be there to celebrate with you all,” she said.
