Banke Kuku Explores the Cycle of Life Through Earth & Sky, Her Spring/Summer 2027 Collection

The collection draws inspiration from the water cycle as a reflection of life

Nature has always been central to Banke Kuku’s creative expression, and for Spring/Summer 2027, the British-Nigerian designer explores the relationship between two of its most essential elements: earth and sky.

Titled Earth & Sky, the collection draws inspiration from the water cycle as a reflection of life, where the sky gives rain, rain nourishes the earth, and the earth gives back. Through this natural connection, Kuku explores themes of abundance, gratitude and the interconnectedness of life. The collection is set to debut on November 11, 2026, in Lagos.

The collection features seven prints grouped into three themes: Sky, Earth and Rain. Floral references, including bougainvillea and Costus spectabilis, a flowering Nigerian plant, appear alongside birds, bees, butterflies and watercolour interpretations of natural landscapes. Hand-embroidered clouds and raindrops add texture to selected pieces.

The inspiration also carries a personal meaning for the designer, who welcomed her first child this year and found parallels between the cycles of nature and the experience of motherhood. Beyond the designs, the collection reflects the brand’s commitment to sustainability through its no-waste policy, digital printing techniques that reduce water and heat consumption, and partnerships with the Nigerian Conservation Foundation and the Re-Green Movement to support environmental restoration and afforestation in Nigeria.

Following its Lagos debut, Earth & Sky will be available from December 2026 through the Banke Kuku flagship and global stockists.
