Fatiha Taban Transformed Sandra Nansambu into a ‘Young, Bold & Free’ Beauty for her Cover Shoot

Sandra Nansambu is having her moment. After winning the Pearl of Africa Star Search, the 18-year-old star is preparing to not just be a musical icon, but also a force of change. She braved all the storms life threw at her to come out on top even when weighed among some of the best musical unseen gems in the country.

For her beauty transformation, we wanted to explore different sides. First, natural; to show off her stunning bone structure and entrancing eyes. Second: Youthful sporty look to hint on the possibilities of who she could be and how high she could fly. Fatiha Taban from MAC Cosmetics UG, the makeup artist on set, shared all the inspiration she had to create Sandra’s transformation.

Look 1: Whisper neutral glam.

We used nudes and browns to create a neutral cut crease to accentuate her effortlessly beautiful eyes. For this look we used:

Look 2: Scarlet Red

We kept the eyes neutral and ventured into bringing back colour to her face with this scarlet red. A perfect compliment to the green leather dress she had on. We added these products below to achieve this look.

Look 3: Young, Bold and Free

Nothing says fun more than a graphic wing liner. We still kept the eyes neutral but decided to throw fun into this by creating a colorful graphic wing liner.

Fatiha Taban is a retail manager at Mac Cosmetics’ Kampala outlet at Acacia Mall. She describes herself as a certified makeup artist with interest in a medley of fashion, beauty and expressive art. “My favorites are fashion and expressive makeup because, here, I have the most creative freedom to let my imaginations run wild,” she says.
