Back to the Source – The Nile is a powerful documentary that explores Uganda’s identity, culture, and heritage through a lens of sustainable storytelling. Executively produced by Ambassador @ambassadorjuju and shot by @ssenyonyiderrick, the film follows a deeply personal journey along the River Nile. What begins as a confrontation with a lifelong fear of water evolves into something much more, an honest, human way of telling Uganda’s story. Rather than relying on marketing or slogans, the documentary is rooted in real experience, courage, and transformation, offering an authentic perspective that resonates far beyond the screen.
After its premiere in Guangzhou, China, in December 2025, the film reached over 73 million viewers, an impressive testament to the power of genuine African storytelling on a global stage. Now, the story comes home. Uganda will host its national premiere on 25 April 2026 in Kampala, marking a significant moment for local audiences to connect with a story that reflects their heritage, identity, and lived experiences.
