Gucci’s new campaign includes a surprising cast of characters! The Creature of the Blue Lagoon, a T-Rex, a few aliens, and some humanoids star in the new Fall/Winter 2017 ads. What’s not to love about a foray through Alessandro Michele’s brain? The designer enlisted photographer Glen Luchford and art director Christopher Simmonds to create the retro-futurist scenes influenced by the Sci-Fi genre of the ’50s and ’60s, including Star Trek. Gucci-clad humans interact with extra-terrestrial creatures and earthly monsters for a surreal trip through time and space.
But this campaign wasn’t just about the clothes—Yadim Carranza had his hands full creating incredible transformation from models to humanoids through some brilliant makeup effects and hair stylist Paul Hanlon whipped up some inspiring new takes on retro coifs.
