As New York Fashion Week continues to rage on, yesterday we were delighted with an edgy show from Adeam, a brand by Hanako Maeda. While she is used to working between New York and Japan, the pandemic had her stuck at home in Tokyo. This of course was a stressful limitation, but Hanako got to work making this collection, and presented it from the the grounds of the Meiji Kinenkan, a reception hall that was built in 1881 in Tokyo.
During the summer season, when tourists would usually flood her home area, it was a complete 180 this time round and the designer took the time to meander around the city and appreciate its beauty with new perspective. This bled through to the collection which had a sense of serenity, with airy silhouettes and movable fabrics. There was a mix of Japanese Crepe and knitwear while making these comfy, mostly oversized, collection.
Take a look!
