A Pass tops Buzz Teeniez Awards 2015 nominations

This year’s list of nominees for Buzz Teeniez Awards was released and it definitely reflected the very best in music and entertainment over the past year as determined by the teenagers.

The list was obviously topped by A Pass and Mun G who scored 5 nominations each. A Pass who made number 4 on last year’s list of the 40 movers and shakers of 2014 continues to have a stellar career barely a year after debuting. He was nominated for Artiste of the Year, Hottest Riddim for “Tulikubigere”, Breakout Artiste of the Year, Dancehall Artiste, and Hottest Collabo for “I am Loving” a song he sang with Don MC and Cindy.

Other nominees who have scored highly over the past year included Sheeba Karungi, Spice Diana, Anita Fabiola, Nutty Neithan and Mary Luswata among others.

Buzz Events, the organizers of the event together with Mountain Dew launched a new trophy as well. The gold-plated trophy is both grand and unique as opposed to the old one which looked a bit like the iconic Oscar statue.

“Mountain Dew decided to sponsor Buzz Teeniez Awards because we pride ourselves in connecting with our target consumers; for this case the youth,” said Tracy Kakuru, the brand executive, who represented Mountain Dew Brand Manager Berna Kizza at the launch in Kampala on Saturday.
“We are also proudly associated with these awards because they are acknowledged by the entertainment industry. Therefore, building on their year-on-year success we believe they have once again proved to be one of the best award events in Uganda and the best platform to associate with,” she added.
