As the world celebrated the Menstrual hygiene day on Saturday May 28th 2022, designers were showcasing fashion at the second edition of the Menstrual Shebang Fashion show held at the Design Hub Bugolobi.
The Menstrual Shebang Fashion show was staged to empower women by boosting their confidence during the menstrual periods.


The show organized by well being foundation in partnership with Wuzi foundation aims at creating awareness among the public about women menstrual periods and how best one can confidently go through the cycle.
Lwanyaaga, the founder of menstrual shebang fashion show says that people tend to shy away from menstruation and thus the need to talk about the issue (menstruation) in a rather alluring way.
He says he decided to use fashion in order to speak to the millions of girls out there and help them be confident.


The Menstrual Shebang Fashion show is held annually on May 28th and this year’s edition was the second. Many girls, irrespective of age, usually duck their heads in lose of confidence during their menstrual periods and the fashion show is aimed towards changing that.
This year saw designers Aliad Zoe, Musema, Sew Bantu, Yasmin karungi, Shurea Yasmina, Jamila brown and Maggie showcase their show stopping couture and ready to wear pieces.
