Backstory
Ian and I met in 2018. I was doing my training at Graphics Systems, a sister company to the company he works for. The first time we met I called him the wrong name. Hhahaha However, he was a humble guy, whose silence blew me away. We rarely talked until our End of Year Party, when he requested to dance with me. From then on, we became good friends.
Engagement
We got engaged on 11, April, 2021. I vividly remember all the events that unfolded that day. Ian, who was my boyfriend at the time, requested to take me out for dinner at any hotel of my choice. I chose Mestil Hotel. We headed there.
Interestingly, this was both our first time at this hotel, at least as per my knowledge at the time.
Upon arrival, we didn’t know were the restaurant is located. After dinner, we definitely had to have a small tour. After clearing our bill, a small van picked us for the tour. I was so excited. When we got to the pool side, Ian suggested that we took a few photos. He knew that I love pictures, so that was an easy bait. As I was posing, boom there he was, on one knee proposing to marry me. My God, I cried.
Planning the traditional wedding
Our experience preparing the event wasn’t an easy one, given the Covid-19 restrictions. However, we managed to make it happen. We were each other’s support system. We also had relatives and friends who were with us through thick and thin to make our big day a dream come true. It was such an experience!
