Risks do pay off! An attempt to seek inspiration from the past, picking ideas from the bridal gown HRH The Nabagereka Sylvia Nagginda wore to her royal wedding in 1999, turned into a genius idea for this bride whose wedding held last month.
The dress, designed and tailored by renowned bridal designer, Dyna Vence Ruvuza of Dyna Vence, featured puffy shoulders, short sleeves and a rectangular neckline, a look that was initially inspired by the ‘busuuti’. It also featured a 6 metre long veil.
The Nabageraka wore a similar look to her wedding 19 years ago.
Surprisingly, the groom was called Mr, Ronald Mutebi, also from the royal clan of Buganda.
Ruvuza, the designer of the gown took to social media to share her excitement.
My yesterday’s bride Racheal rocked this look inspired by the royal wedding of Buganda. With high shoulders and a rectangular neck line just like the Gomesi. Accentuated with a 6 metre long royal veil. It’s crazy how much of the coincidence most of this wedding was. She is Muganda and has a resemblance to the Nabagereka and the crazy part is that the groom is called Mr. Ronald Mutebi from the royal clan of Buganda. I had a chance to attend their wedding which they hosted in their home that sits on 5 acres. The home is a palace OMG. Am honoured that she chose us to make her dream come true.
