This year’s edition of Men’s Fashion Week Nigeria held last weekend at Toyota House in Lagos. The menswear showcase is a three day event held annually to showcase the latest collections from designers all over Africa. Kai’s Divo Collection is the only brand from Uganda that graced the event.
The collection was sexy, bold and modern in form of skin baring pieces, deconstructed shirts and bold patterns plus trendy accessories such as fanny packs.
According to Kaijuka Abbas, the creative director of the brand, this was a forecast of menswear of the future.
“My intention was to create a forecast of men’s sophistication through fashion, an allure that draws you in and keeps you wanting more. I combined clean patterns on leather to achieve non-conventional elegance,” he shared.
“This is evident in shirts and pants with wrappers for a bold and daring touch. Each piece may look simple, but the pattern-cutting, techniques and garment construction that went into achieving this simplicity were labor-intensive,” he added.
Black and white were the theme colors for the collection which are usually every man’s favorite colours.
