Sharon Kamanyire of Living With Sharon Shares Her Beauty Hacks and Favourite Products
In this chat with Satisfashion UG Beauty, Sharon Kamanyire of Living With Sharon, a beauty and wellness content creator gives us the lowdown on her favourite products and beauty hacks.
When and how did you fall in love with beauty and wellness?
For me, it was more about understanding that I needed to take care of myself and love myself a little more than I did. And when I started to see the results I just felt it was important that I share my experiences. I was 26 when I started to love me. I am not in love with beauty and wellness I just love myself a little more and I find it an important message to pass on.
What 3 products do you always have in your stash? Why?
I always have;
- an exfoliant with glycolic acid. (pixie glow toxic is my favorite)
- Vitamin C serum(great for dark spot and hyperpigmentation removal)
- Tretinoin cream( most affordable anti-aging and acne treatment)
Do you have a favorite beauty or makeup hack?
If you have oily skin don’t use primers and setting powders. Moisturise conceal and cover-up with just foundation
What products give you the biggest confidence boost?
I don’t think I get a confidence boost from any product.
What’s been your biggest beauty disaster?
I think the way I used to draw on jet black eye pencils around my eyes all the time was a disaster especially for someone with big eyes.
What’s the best piece of beauty/skincare advice you’ve ever been given and by who?
People hate it when I say it, and so did I initially at my first visit to the dermatologist but the truth is, to have good skin so your makeup can look flawless, you need to change your diet. The problem is always and has always been from within.
Has beauty been an empowering tool for you?
Beauty has not so much been empowering but has given and shown me discipline. Without it, you can never achieve the results you looking for.
What does your self-care routine consist of?
Self-care for me is always burning a scented candle, wearing a mask, cleaning my space, and listening to music.
What’s the craziest thing you’ve done in the name of wellness?
I am so into wellness I never think anything is crazy, but I guess anyone that can take a birth comprising of all types of plant leaves is on another level.
What beauty trend have you never been able to get on board with?
I think wearing fake eyelashes is a bit too far fetched for me… don’t think I will ever jump on board with it.
Which beauty/wellness bloggers are you constantly following for tips tricks and inspiration?
Michelle Phan was my first and most inspirational beauty enthusiast and for wellness, it’s Kourtney Kardashian.
