There’s no better time to purge your closet and reinvent your style than the New Year. Here are five trends to part ways with before the end of 2019 — and five to keep around in 2020.
Puffer Bags and Oversize bags
Sure enough, we saw indications this year on the runways and Instagram that oversize bags are barreling back into relevance with the puffer bag being the most popular. Large bags are functional. But extremely large bags are ridiculous and, quite honestly, silly. This trend has to die!
Bike shorts with Blazers
Bike shorts are strictly functional wear. Any attempts at dressing them up are bound to look a bit silly.
Snake print
Sorry Zari, but snake prints need a rest. If I had to compile a list of all celebrities that wore head-to-toe snakeskin this year, I’d have a Bible. Let’s give other animal prints (like zebra) a chance to reign.
Fanny packs
Aren’t fanny packs supposed to be lame? This trend has been around since 2016. We’re tired! The truly intriguing thing about the fanny pack trend is the way it is worn—diagonally across the upper body, rather than around the waist. Let’s give belt bags a chance to shine too, shall we?
Neon Green
Neon green a.k.a look-at-me green has been the biggest colour trend of 2019. Everybody has worn it. We’re tired! When you enter a room with this highlighter hue literally NO ONE will miss you walking by.
