1. Willow Smith Lands Feature in Vanity Fair Magazine

What does @willowsmith have to scream about? “Oh, man,” says the 22-year-old singer. “Being born.” After a turbulent year for her famous family, Willow Smith pours her anger and vulnerability into a surprising new rock album, ‘Coping Mechanism.’ The singer’s new LP turns difficult emotions into art, which is somewhat of a family business. Smith cohosts the hit Facebook Live show ‘Red Table Talk’ where her mother, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Grandmother Adrienne Banfield Norris, bring diverse guests to have soul-bearing conversations. “I love people,” Smith told VF, “And the one thing that I want to do with the platform I have is love people harder and harder every day.”

Willow speaks to VF about the “existential trauma of being alive,” how her family coped with controversy after the 2022 Oscars, and more. Read the full interview HERE

2. Actress Michaela Cole Announced as 2023 Met Gala Co-chair

The Met Museum announced the co-chairs for the Spring 2023 Costume Institute Benefit as well as the dress code. The sartorial theme, unsurprisingly, honors the late Karl Lagerfeld who is the subject of this year’s retrospective.

As such, the dress code is simply: “In honor of Karl.” At the star-studded event which takes place on May 1, co-chairs are Michaela Coel, Penélope Cruz, Roger Federer, Dua Lipa, and Anna Wintour. As per a press release from The Met, the exhibition and the benefit for The Costume Institute are made possible by CHANEL, with major support provided by FENDI, and additional funding provided by KARL LAGERFELD and Condé Nast. The exhibit will feature some 150 pieces, spanning Lagerfeld’s career as creative director of Chanel, Chloé, Fendi, and his eponymous label, Karl Lagerfeld, as well as his time at Balmain and Patou.

3. Taylor Russell covers Harper’s Bazaar

Fashion’s favorite it girl of the moment Taylor Russell is on the up and up. But don’t mistake the Bones and All star for being a flash in the pan. The Canadian actress is Harper’s Bazaar February/Dreamers issue cover star, showcasing the new season’s fashion hits (styled by Alexandra Carl) and chatting about the long road it took to reach overnight success. “All I want to be doing is sleeping and playing the harp and sitting in the sun,” she says of the newfound global fame, which has seen her grace runways, billboards, and red carpet best dressed lists.

While she might have turned her phone off for a week after being overwhelmed by the attention, she also adds: “I feel like a little kid being able to do all this stuff that I’m doing right now…Why not just run around that playground?’ is how I feel. Let’s see how it shifts and evolves.”
