I used to be a photography model, and honestly, I never thought I’d find true love again after everything I’d been through. Life had its share of struggles, but then I stepped into a new chapter as a Youth Pastor. It was during that season that God brought Eng. Lilian Mugala into my life, a brilliant, book-loving telecom engineer with the kindest heart.
To be honest, it wasn’t perfect at first. We even ignored each other sometimes. But looking back, I can see how God was quietly weaving our story together. “It’s funny,” Lilian once said, “how we almost missed each other when God had already written this part of our lives.”
After months of saving and planning, what seemed like just a simple trip to Zanzibar turned into the most unforgettable moment of our lives. Right there on the Indian Ocean, with “I’m Choosing You” by Witness ft. Ykee Benda playing in the background, I asked the biggest question of all. Lilian’s smile said everything before her words did.
That day, it wasn’t just a proposal, it felt like a divine moment. A reminder that marriage is more than love between two people; it reflects Christ and His Church (Eph. 5:31–32). And for us, it’s the beginning of a story only God could have written.
