We Did Each Other’s Hair

By  |

We met on Twitter, talked on Instagram and then met face to face to do each other’s hair! I had no idea that social media could actually bring people together to form such a cool friendship!

Atwiine Lyn (my new hair blogger friend) and I did each other’s hair and we had so much fun! Head over to her blog (click here!) to enjoy more hair inspired posts but first, here’s a break down of the hairstyles we created!

The Dutch Braid & A Twist!

This hair style was inspired by Nakwunde on Instagram .

I started by detangling her hair (it was blow dried ) which was relatively easy! Then I applied Eco Styling Gel to hold her hair in place(click here to see or get it)!

Eco styling gel is a life saver especially for 4C hair, it holds those stubborn front hairs down to create a clean smooth hair do! After wards I braided her hair at the back of the head starting from the middle part of the head running to the back. Then I twisted a section of hair at the front which I had left out earlier while braiding. I then pinned it to the side of the head and added two golden pins just to spice it up – black and gold was my color theme!

This is a fun easy hairstyle to do and really great for long hair!

FLAT TWISTS!

If you’ve been on my blog for a while, you know I love twists! So obviously had to include them somewhere!

For Lyn’s twists, I just twisted her hair from the front to the back, and stopped inches away from her nape. Then I tied the twists up in a puff and then re twisted the puff. The reason I stopped midday was because I didn’t want to rid the back hair of it’s volume. So I stopped the twists halfway, joined them with the rest of the hair and created a bigger puff which I twisted again.

LYN’S CURLS ON ME!

For my hair, Lyn curled it using Eco styling gel. You can head over to her blog to see how she really did it. But they are so easy to do, add gel to the hair and curl the hair up. Grab small sections of the hair, really small sections, and curl them using a tail comb.

And that’s a wrap for now! I hope you learned a thing or two!

Here are some extra pictures !

Until next time, Bye for now!

Truly,
