Ugandans Are Determined To Crash The Miss World Website

By  |

Ugandans are determined to take this year’s Miss World crown, and if crashing the pageant site is what it takes to make this happen, they’re determined to do it. Over the past few weeks Ugandans have run to the official Miss World website and apps to vote for Quiin Abenakyo, Miss Uganda 2018. Now that she even secured a spot in the top 30 finalists, social media is going crazy. This is a monumental moment for Uganda as it’s the first time our representative has gone that far.

Just this week, Rtd. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, speaker of parliament urged members of the August house to spare sometime and vote too. All celebrities are asking their followers to do the same. And, Ugandans are responding. Browsing through the social feed of Miss World, you won’t fail to see the numerous comments with Abenakyo’s name and a slew of hashtags in them.

This stellar performance started with this year’s Miss Uganda campaign organised purposely to revive the once prestigious pageant. Zari Hassan and her celebrity were tapped to add oomph to the project. Quinn Abenakyo emerged winner of the crown at a glamourous event held at Sheraton Kampala Hotel.

This Saturday, Indian beauty Manushi Chhillar will handover the coveted crown at a gala event in Sanya China. Ugandans are determined to see this crown come home. If you haven’t had time to vote, head here to do the needful. Let’s crash the site for a good cause.
