Ugandan make-up artist Zaina Kigenyi of Zyna Makeup has earned a place in the Guinness World Records after completing the most lipstick applications in one minute.
Zaina Kigenyi, a beauty creator and make-up professional from Kampala, set the new record by applying lipstick nine times in just 60 seconds. This beat the previous mark of eight and made her an official world record holder.
Zaina became interested in make-up after her own prom make-up didn’t turn out as she hoped. She started practising different looks and shared her beauty tips on social media. Over time, she built a following and became known for quick, clear make-up tutorials.
Lipsticks have always been her favourite product to use, and she said trying for a speed record made sense for her skills. Before the attempt, she practised how to move quickly between models while still applying each lipstick well.
After achieving the record, Zaina said it was an exciting moment and felt like real recognition for her hard work. Her make-up brand, called Zyna Make Up, has grown as more people celebrate her success.
