This 2016 Collection From K-Rafael Featured Face masks!

By  |

In 2016 Raphael Kasule of K-Rafael presented his collection which featured leather jackets and pants in black and gold. Now, the collection is standing out for his use of face masks which models donned as they walked down the runway. Four years later, and facemasks have become a symbol of our times.

Kasule has always been futuristic in his work, it’s not suprising that he thought face masks were chic before they even happened. The collection was presented at the Purple Rayn Fashion Show and Hot Pink Fashion Show that year.

See what we said about the collection then

The genius use of glamorous mischief with models wearing masks and leather (which is usually shunned by African designers), made the collection just as enthralling to watch, as it was wearable. If you’re the daring type with an eye for interesting detail, this collection is for you. Some of the pieces, we have to agree are a tad costumey, but what are music videos for? What are red carpet events for?
