There’s always something exciting about weddings. It is no shock that many of us have dedicated our lives to crashing wedding receptions. Weddings are special events that need to be celebrated in style.
As we celebrate Dora Mwima appearing on the cover of Bride & Groom magazine we share with you some very addictive items that you should never wear at weddings.
1. Tiaras, Flower crowns and statement head pieces
Everyone understands that you desperately want to stand out. Everyone that attends a wedding wants to stand out at some point because they want the bride and groom to notice that they honored the invitation. However this should be done in a subtle manner. A statement embellished crown or floral head piece will make you look like you wanted to steal the bride’s spot.
2. All white head to toe
White is such a special color. That’s why bridal gowns are always in the color. Doing an all white look when you are a guest is a bit too much. Stick to white only when the wedding has a dress code and white is on the memo somewhere. There are so many colors that can do a good job. If you must wear white, try to color block it.
3. Skimpy outfits
Everything from too short to low cut dresses are a total No for weddings. We understand you are single and are plotting to hook up with a potential husband which isn’t bad. However it’s best to wow guys in something less revealing.
4. Denim
Denim is obviously too casual for weddings. It doesn’t show that you are cool but that you gate crashed the wedding while you were on your way to a birthday party. Stay away from denim.
5. Black
Black is not an appropriate color for weddings. Go for something g more cheerful. Colors such as blue, orange, green are better options.
6. Over dressing
This is the most bizarre of them all. Many fashion savvy ladies have fallen prey of it. You go to your friends wedding wearing glitter, countless accessories and heavy makeup. You should never try to out dress the bride. Wait for your own wedding and shine like a diamond then.
