The Most Fabulous Kids Fashion Show in Kampala is Set to Hold This May
With a vibrant modelling industry, Uganda is famous for its long list of internationally recognised runway models. This always poses questions such as “Who is next?” and “Who will be taking over from the already successful faces?” The answer to this is The Kids Fashion Runway which is poised to be the biggest kids’ runway show in Kampala
“We’ve created a platform where youngsters can as well experience what it means to professional models at a very early age,” shared Fernando Kamugisha, the CEO of The Kids Fashion Runway during a press launch held at Ham Shopping Mall Makerere last Saturday.
“We’ve followed international standards to scout models we feel can put on a great show. We’ve also put together a great team of choreographers and show producers to create a world class show,” he added.
Over 35 models are set to walk the runway in looks from top designers. These will be followed with a flavour of alternative entertainment from dancers and budding designers. “This explains why this particular edition is called ‘The little Superstar Edition’”, he continued.
“We’ve created a show as fabulous as the Victoria’s Secrets Fashion Show, but without lingerie,” offered Evelyne Atim, the show producer.
Kamugisha also used the launch to introduce his team to the press. Diana Kanyange, a HR executive who is passionate about kids will be in charge of welfare; Jokudu Gertrude, a runway model who will be charged with training the models; Evelyn Atim from Joram Model Management who is the show producer and Guy Zziwa who is the fashion show coordinator.
The event is slated to hold on Sunday 19th May, 2019 at The Square starting at 3pm sharp. Tickets are already on sale with Front row seats going for 100,000ugx and second row seats at 70,000ugx.
The event is funded by Duke Water, Destiny Events, Solutions East Africa and Suki Events.
Kamugisha is confident that The Kids Fashion Runway Show is going to act as a springboard for a new wave of fashion models. “We’ve done our part, now is the time to groom the generation of superstars,” he shared.
