While many different films were nominated across the categories at the ikon awards, a few emerged as the biggest winners of the night.
Abby Mukibi
The multi-award winning actor, comedian, director producer, and radio personality, recognised for theatre plays, film, television and radio was awarded the lifetime achievement award and best actor in a tv series for Sanyu.
Lion of Buganda cast
The film snagged awards for Best VFX, Best makeup in film along with nominations in multiple other categories.
Makula cast
The film took home some of the most prestigious awards, including Best film, Best director, Best Screenplay and Production Design
Maria cast
The film took home the awards for best costume design which Solomon Tazibone took home, Best supporting actress which Nana Kagga took home and best lead actress which Peninah Nampanga got, presented by Patience Ozokwor. It was also nominated in multiple other categories.
